MAJ Michael Cohen

I am the CSH's Family Practice doc.  I get to do a little bit of everything here - I help run our outpatient specialty clinic, I work in the EMT, I coordinate health assessments for troops who are returning home, I run the Leishmaniasis clinic, and I am the CSH's flight surgeon.

On a personal note, my wife Alyson delivered our first child on 10 April 2004.  At 1101 Jacob Skyler Cohen entered the world weighing in at 7 pounds, 9 ounces.  He misses his Dad, but he is proud knowing that his Dad is in Iraq taking care of the soldiers that are fighting for the freedom of our country.

Here I am with MAJ John Glorioso (Stryker Brigade Surgeon) and LTC Mark Reeves (10th SFG(A) Group Surgeon).  I did my Family Practice residency at Tripler Army Medical Center where Glorioso was my adviser and Reeves was the residency director.  These two guys played a significant role in my development as an Army Family Practice Physician.

VISIT TO CAMP FREEDOM

MAJ Mark Framstad and myself in front of one of Saddam's palaces.

Me in one of Saddam's indoor pools.  I bet he had some wild parties in this place.

Mike hanging out in Saddam's sauna.  The walls, floor, and benches were all marble.

Cards and "beer" in the Dusty Room at Camp Virgina, Kuwait.

CPT(P) Simon Telian and myself pose in front of a directory at the Kuwaiti Armed Forces Hospital (KAFH).  A U.S. CSH occupied one of the floors of this hospital.

Here I am enjoying the first snow in Iraq in over a decade.  The second snow in a decade occurred one week later!

Believe it or not, this is Iraq.  Here I am in front of our snow-covered MEDEVAC helicopters.

I think I have some sand on my tongue, can someone help me with this?
